Xiaomi is going to release their next Android phone with Stock Android on India on September 5. It was rumored that Xiaomi is working with Google for making an Android One phone with stock Android, which is to be based on a mid range model Mi 5x
Just some time ago, MI has updated their Facebook cover photo with this, have a look:
Here’s the link to the post.
Notice the byline reading, “Introducing a new series by Xiaomi“.
This means that this isn’t a phone that they already have in the market. It could be the rumored Mi A1, the rumored Xiaomi’s Google One device.
Also they’ve mentioned in their comments that it’s not a device that is previously launched in China. So it’s definitely not Mi 5x, but Mi A1.
Now, typically Xiaomi releases their phones first in China. And later on it passes to India and other market. Remember Android One series? It was specifically targeted for India. (Although it got launched on other countries later).
This exclusive launch in India could also mean this: it’s Xiaomi’s rumored Mi A1, the Android One device from Xiaomi.
It was previously rumored that they’re going to release a bezel less model as Android One. But those images was leaked prior to this, as Mi Mix 2. So only one option: it’s the one based off Mi 5x. This could also mention why launch in India first. They’ve launched Mi 5x already in China, as this is just a variant of that with Stock ROM, it doesn’t matter much.
Here are the specifications of Mi 5x:
|Primary Camera||Dual 12MP, 2X optical zoom|
|Internal Storage||32/64 GB, 4 GB RAM (Expandable)|
|Display||5.5 inch Full HD|
